What is The Qur'an?
The Holy Al Qur'an is the Word of Allah (S.W.T) that was revealed to final Prophet, Muhammad (S.A.W) by the angel Gabriel (A.S).

Here are the main divisions of its contents:
- Commands to obey and worship Allah (God). 
- Resurrection, Judgement, rewards and punishment in the Hereafter.
- Narratives of the Prophets and their stories.
- Commandments and regulations for conducting all earthly affairs including guidelines for social, civil, commercial, military, judicial, criminal, religious and many other aspects of life. Everything is regulated from ceremonies of religion to those of daily life, from salvation of soul to the health of body, from morality to crime, from punishment here to that of the Hereafter. Generally, the Holy Qur'an is the book of divine guidance and direction for mankind.

Duration of Revelation
The duration of time that it was revealed was 23 years: 13 years in Mecca and 10 years in Medina.

Sections
The Qur'an contains 30 Juz's (Sections) and 114 Surahs (Chapters). The longest Surah is Surah Al-Baqara with 286 verses, and the shortest Surah is Surah Al-Kauthar containing 3 verses.
